Two Cels, and Two Layout drawings - 4 pieces total . Full-body Astro Boy Cels are among the rarest of Japanese Animation cels. These are original animation cels used to create the new Astro Boy Animated cartoon series (known as Atomu, or "Atom" in Japan). These cels were actually used in production animation sequences. These are not "Fan Cels", the kind which are simply made for collectors, but were never used in an animation. THESE ARE THE REAL THING. Astro Boy is probably the most well known character created by Tezuka Osamu (also Kimba the White Lion, Black Jack, et al.), and these cels are from the esteemed Tezuka Osamu studio in Japan. Dr. Osamu is often referred to as the father of Japanese Anime, as well as the "Walt Disney" of Japan.
